Dr. Chetan Parmar is the Senior Vice President, Technical Services for Europe and Asia at FoodChain ID. He is a senior executive with a career spanning over 15 years within the testing, inspection and certification sector.

Dr. Parmar’s core objective is to provide invaluable support to the agriculture and food industry to make the food supply safe, compliant and transparent. Dr. Parmar oversees a comprehensive suite of certification and testing services for the agriculture and food industry, designed to address key focal areas such as food safety, sustainability and product certifications.

Before joining FoodChain ID, Dr. Parmar served as the interim-CEO of Crop Health & Protection (CHAP), one of four UK Agritech Centres funded by Innovate UK, now part of UKRI. Throughout his time there, Dr. Parmar contributed to the development of innovative agricultural technologies through strategic partnerships with key organisations in the UK agriculture sector. Prior to CHAP, he spent 10 years at Intertek, where he held various senior leadership positions, including managing Intertek’s global Food & Agricultural Services business lines.

Chetan holds a PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College London. Additionally, he is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), which augments his academic background.
