Saeed Alhassan is a full professor in the chemical engineering department at Khalifa University; and Founder and CTO of Manhat, a DeepTech start-up based in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, focusing on natural water distillation. Dr. Saeed has served as director of the Gas Research Center for six years, from 2013 to 2019, and he oversaw the growth of the Center that provided technical solutions to ADNOC Gas Processing. Dr. Saeed is the first recipient of the inaugural Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Medal of scientific excellence (2017) and two times recipient of the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Achievement (2008, 2012). Dr. Saeed has published over 100 journal articles, 2 book chapters and holds 6 patents. He holds B.Eng., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University (2003), Colorado School of Mines (2006), and Case Western Reserve University (2011), respectively. His research expertise is on water, colloids, polymeric material, and surface sciences, focusing on developing applications based on these domains in nanomaterials, enhanced oil recovery, and sulfur-based materials.
