Vincent Walsh
Dr Vincent Walsh is a leading circular and regenerative food and agriculture expert in the UK. He is a consultant to some of the UK’s biggest food and beverage organisations, supporting them on projects and product development aligned to net zero targets. Current clients include global foodservice business Compass Group (and its subsidiaries Levy UK + Ireland and Lime Venue Portfolio), and QuornPro (the foodservice division of the meat-free Quorn brand). Further he is an advisor to the Plant Based Food Alliance, and works closely with organisations such as the Organic Research Centre (ORC) on issues such as carbon capture and soil health. Vincent also acts as a mentor to young famers as part of Defra’s Farming Innovation Programme, and has supported cohorts of social entrepreneurs on the Zinc Venture Builder programme. As well as being a farming and food consultant, Vincent is a dynamic entrepreneur who applies his experience to create food businesses and brands. In the last five years he has founded RegenfarmCo, a regenerative agriculture company which works with farmers and landowners to replace monoculture with more circular growing processes; Mycoloops, a start-up which upcycles food and other waste to create high-grade organic compost; and Herblabism, a plant-based food brand developed specifically for the foodservice sector Renowned for his academic rigour, his ability to enthuse others, and his down-to-earth personality, he is regularly asked to take part in conferences and events about food and farming issues. Recently he was invited to speak in Dubai as part of COP28’s Expo City Farm program, and has been involved in a wide range of industry-leading discussion panels and conferences in both the UK and Europe. These include Food Navigator’s Climate Smart Food Summit, Food Manufacture magazine’s Scope 3 Emissions roundtable, the Livestock Supply Chain Connect expo, the LSE’s Future Impact Summit, and the International Plant Based Foods Sustainable Foods Systems conference in Brussels. With a particular specialism in the hospitality and events sector, Vincent was also invited to take part in Micebook’s prestigious Ventures 23 hospitality leaders event, Event Sustainability Live , and UKHospitality’s Welsh sustainability conference in Cardiff. In addition to speaking at events, Vincent has written comment pieces for trade publications such as Farmers Guardian, New Food magazine and Plant Based News, and has been featured in The Guardian, The Ecologist, and The Caterer. He has also appeared on several food and farming podcasts talking about his work, his approach, and his passion for the biosphere.
